The race is on to find cheap fashions for spring in the aisles of local thrift stores Value Village, Plato's Closet and Rag-O-Rama

Winter is ending, and spring break is coming. There are several alternatives to spending loads of money on trendy clothes for your vacation. The hottest pieces for spring are denim jackets - they never go out of style; circle skirts and full skirts, flowy, multi-paneled dresses and mixed patterns.

Living Las Vegas

Students sip mocktails, play cards, get "married"

The UC Commons and Sunnen Lounge were full of students playing poker, blackjack and roulette March 2 for "Vegas Nite 2." Students had the opportunity to win a variety of prizes and enjoy some free fun. Student Activities Council (SAC) and Campus Recreation co-sponsored the event, and Peer Education Zeitgeist provided free mocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails.

Flu remains concern as winter turns to spring

By the end of 2004, the lack of flu vaccines was a topic that worried physicians and parents. Some doctor's offices and pharmacies posted signs alerting patrons that the vaccine was not available due to shortages. In the past, the elderly, young children and people in the healthcare field were highly encouraged to take the vaccine.

As an employee of the St. Louis City Police department for the past 17 years, he's worked on a narcotics task force, the Intelligence Division, the Dignitary Protection Program and Internal Affairs, gone undercover for investigations and was a hostage negotiator.

Eight-ball battle

Students compete for $25 prize in pool tournament

In a series of close games, Webster University students took to the game of pool in the Residential Housing Association's tournament March 5. The competitors' $1 entry fee covered the cost of the $25 prize - a gift certificate to Best Buy. There was free pizza and soda for participants and passers-by.

Spending spring break in Spain

Pilgrims who wanted to reach the site where the remains of James the Apostle were said to be buried made Santiago de Compostela their destination, as far back as the ninth century. Over spring break, 11 Webster students and faculty members will retrace these steps in Spain.
