Attacks against campus speaker unfounded

Dan Colombo didn't know what he was getting himself into. It was his first time making a speech in front of a non-church group, and after the experience, he may just decide to stick to Christian groups. Colombo was speaking about how he turned away from his homosexuality in order to form a closer relationship with God.

After spending a little time in the residence halls, one could come to a dramatically different conclusion. Marilyn Cartwright, a member of the custodial staff, finds empty beer cans in the residence halls several times a week, ever since the beginning of the school year.

Pope John Paul II's death April 2 immediately brought about praise of his life and works, but not long after his funeral April 4, partisan politics began to wedge their way back onto television screens. Commentators criticized the Pope's often strong political views and used his opinions to further their political agendas.
Not everyone has a blast with gun use
Some students may relax after a long school week with a six-pack or long nap, but the Campus Conservatives have a different way of shrugging off the pressures of college life: a trip to the shooting range, armed with assault rifles and handguns. This method of blowing off steam is a controversial one that a few vocal professors have spoken out against.
Mercury exposure not treated seriously by EPA
On March 15 the Bush administration released first-ever plans to cut mercury emissions from power plants. Sounds like a good thing. Mercury is a toxin that is harmful to people, especially pregnant women and children. How harmful depends on the level of exposure, but it can be debilitating to developing young life.
Budget cuts need explanation
COMMENTARY
As registration for next semester begins, those students who are returning to Webster University will have to adjust their wallets to prepare for a hike in tuition. Yet while tuition is increasing, the Webster budget is decreasing. Students will likely see less from Webster due to budget cuts, but the administration has yet to tell us where we can expect to see services cut or budgets slashed.
