But two student workers and the assistant director at the Multicultural and International Student Affairs had a more adult goal in mind than exchanging homemade cards in class. The stage was set in the University Center Commons. A podium - with Webster University's golden nameplate on it - was the forum for five students, ready to reenact historic speeches from blacks. A historic week, with Martin Luther King Jr. Day followed by President Barack Obama's inauguration, culminated with the Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs "Still I Rise: Great Speeches by African Americans.
WU professors around world present images in annual show

The first May Gallery opening of the semester started with an eclectic mesh of artists in the Annual Photography Faculty Exhibition. More than 20 photographers were in the exhibit and, unlike in other years, the exhibit featured photography from teachers at Webster University's foreign campuses.

About seven years ago, Nathan Womack decided he wanted to do more than just listen to music. He wanted to get involved. Womack, who graduated from Webster University in Dec. 2008, began making music with vinyl records and a small electronic keyboard. He started producing instrumental hip-hop songs and experimenting with different types of music to fill his musical void.

Are you a filler or a dipper? This is the question Sarah Tetley, assistant director of housing and residential life, posed to students during her lecture on Jan. 21 as part of Webster University's ACTademia lecture series. Tetley was referring to the book "How Full is Your Bucket?" by Tom Rath and Don Clinton, which she said she discovered about a year ago.
