WU projectionist promotes perfection in film quality

It was snowing. The Webster University campus was nearly abandoned, but in the Winifred Moore Auditorium, strange things were happening. Adrift at sea, a six-armed goddess danced on a lotus flower to music emanating from a phonograph constructed from a peacock.

One-woman performer argues "Mammy" icon insults blacks

A diverse audience turned out to see Michelle Matlock's "The Mammy Project," a show which explored Mammy, the voluptuous, docile woman portrayed as a black servant who typically appears very mother-like. The Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs sponsored the one-woman, two-hour show, on Feb.

Comedian's show focuses on WU

"I could do a whole hour on how you guys are called the Gorloks," said comedian and musician Evan Wecksell to an audience of Webster University students and staff on Jan. 29. "It sounds like something out of a 'Lord of the Rings' movie." The hour-long performance, which was originally scheduled for Jan.

Health science classes offer fun way to stay active, regardless of skill

There's more to college than going to class. For students who want to stay active and have some fun, Webster University offers a variety of sports-related classes, featuring classes such as kickball and fencing. For golf coach Andrew Belsky, the courses are a win-win situation.
