If I said the name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, would you break out in excitement? Oh, maybe you know her better as Lady Gaga.

How about Kesha Rose Sebert, a.k.a. Ke$ha? Not so much?

Since the rise of Lady Gaga, it seems the next big thing in pop music is around the corner. Or not.

I admit I was late to jump on the bandwagon with Lady Gaga, but now ask any of The Journal staffers who the resident Gaga expert is.

However, I am not impressed with the Gaga wannabes who are hitching an uninvited ride on her wave of success. The ones that have the same sound, but don't measure up to the "Pepsi Challenge," if you get my drift.

In July 2009, I was driving and heard a song called "Evacuate The Dance floor" and thought, "Wow I didn't know Lady Gaga had a new single out."

Much to my surprise, it wasn't Lady Gaga. German pop band Cascada was serenading me, and I was amazed how Gaga-esque they sounded.

I was also amazed Cascada has admitted they are trying to break away from the sway and feel of Lady Gaga.

Ke$ha is a leech who has been able to ride two waves of fame. Ke$ha was trying to hawk her musical misfortunes on the world. While Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie tried to fit in on the show "The Simple Life," Ke$ha was seen trying to become a star.

With Lady Gaga, Ke$ha was able to cash in on the techno-pop sensation sweeping America. "Bad Romance" was the most played song in one week on U.S. radio, until it was overtaken the next week by "Tik Tok."

There are a few issues I have with Ke$ha. Namely, her songs are all the same: bland techno with no substance. She doesn't really sing, rather raps, and unlike the lyrical imagery of Gaga's songs, they have no meaning.

If you've seen any performances of "Tik Tok" on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," you'll also know Ke$ha has no originality in any of performances. It's exactly the same thing every time she performs, and there is no deviance from her structured choreography.

I like most of Lady GaGa's songs, but she's too weird for me. Her live performances are creepy and in her interviews, you never get a sense of who she really is. (Continued…)

I think Lady Gaga is a true original, maybe the next Madonna.
